Reading tags in C script

Darko Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I'm reading a large number of tags in C-script and writing their values to a database. Writing to database is quick, but reading tag values with GetTagFloat is extremly slow (tag per second or so) because these tag values are not visualised on a picture from which the script is called and they are not polled and they are probably off scan until first read request (my guess). After first run, every other run is really fast (several hundred tag values per second). When i change the picture, and then come back and execute the script, the first run is again extremely slow. Is there a way to make these tags go on scan (forever) so every GetTagFloat is fast (except maybe the first one) regardles of picture switching, in C script of course. Thanks in advance!! Darko Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I allready tried that, i created global action triggered by value change of a tag indicating that HMI has started. If i do it this way, then refreshing tags used in opened pictures block until script ends. What i hoped was maybe some __* function similar in functionality to activating a group in OPC DA. :) Darko

Ikkezelf Posts: 1084 Rating: (72)	How many tags are you reading? You could post your script here, maybe someone can find some issues in it to improve speed. Every considered using a seperate server/pc to read the tags and write them into a database? A server without mimics. with regards, Ikkezelf
