DavidBrown Gold Member Joined: 6/29/2012 Last visit: 12/25/2023 Posts: 975 Rating: (9)	How long can the real time clock maintain the right time when powered off in case of a 'standard' Simotion D410-2, D425-2, D435-2, D445-2 and D455-2? I suppose the optional 'battery module' can extend the RTC allowable power off time? With how much time? Is the battery module optional for all new Simotion-D's? Or is it standard for some?

For D410-2 the buffer time is 5 days The Battery/Fan Module ist not optional for this CPU's is mandatory. Without this module the D4x5-2 CPU's don't booting up! The D410-2 give a alarm that the module is defect if not connected. Regards Christoph

Regards Christoph Do you mean that when I order D4x5-2, battery/fan module is already included, and that the buffer times of 4-5 days are for configuration with battery/fan module?

Regards Christoph It is not completely clear to me what the battery/fan module is exactly. Is it so that the 'fan module' needs to be connected to let the Simotion power up, but that in addition there is a battery that you can connect (but that is not required to boot). And that battery fits in the housing of the fan module? Is the battery itself included in the standard delivery of the CPU?

The SIMOTION D410-2 have no battery, only a Fan! All your question answered in the SIMOTION D4x5-2 manual, have you read this? Regards Christoph
