qayyum faiz Experienced Member Joined: 7/30/2012 Last visit: 12/20/2021 Posts: 127 Rating: (0)	Dear All, do we have real time clock option in S7-1200?? if yes then how can one use it?? is it some type of extra module or do we have to use RTC as a blok in Programming because in other PLC's like one of Schneider we use a Real time block sepeately which is batery powered. waiting for replies.

smiffy Platinum Member Joined: 1/17/2007 Last visit: 1/30/2023 Posts: 1516 Rating: (513)	The S7-1200 CPU's also have a battery (actually a maintenence free Super Capacitor) powered real time clock (with a typical retention time of 20 days, and a minimum retention time of 12 days). The time can be read with 2 functions:- 1) RD_SYS_T which reads the system time (this is UTC) with no offset for timezone or daylight savings time 2) RD_LOC_T which reads the current time zone time adjusted for daylight savings time.
