Hi, if the data stay on a PC folder, it should, in theory, be possible to access it by FTP (PC as server, PLC as client). There is an Application & Example about FTP communication in FTP Client Communication with S7-1200/1500 As the text the Application & Example is just an example, you will should adapt and test it by yourself... After read (in a DB) the data should be "split" and "translated" from ascii to int in the user program |

Hi Denilson, thank you for your very quick answer. I'll check the example and get back to you in case I don't understand something. However, I would prefer not to use the PC and its folder at all (if possible), otherwise I would have to delete the file right after read it (can S7 do that?). This is because the file sent by WMS has different content each time, but always the same name. An empty folder is a message to WMS that it can send another file (with new content). At the moment InTouch deletes it after corresponding flag in the PLC "informs" it that the data has been read.

Hi, I'm not sure that understood 100% what you desire, however the S7-1500 system could also be a FTP server (FTP/FTPS communication with S7-1500 and CP 1543-1), maybe it helps. |
