Recipies - what do you need them for?

Hi All,

I'm trying to understand the concept behind recipes.

In the following description we can read that man can create a recipe with Axis position.

Well, I am working actually on a project where we do use Axis position and therefore we have created a DB with an Axis Struct (including axis position).

Would we have any benefits if we used a recipes? (Anyway we would have linked them anyway to a DB, right)

Is there any example available which would open my eyes?

In this old Manual (WinCC Flex 2008) there is an explanation on page 52. It should be straight foreward to "Translate" it to TIA portal.
