Red triangle Sinamics Profibus DP Slave

h2_504 Experienced Member Joined: 11/8/2011 Last visit: 9/19/2023 Posts: 89 Rating: (1)	Dear all, When I insert a Sinamics DCM Profibus DP slave in a Profibus network with Simatic Manager from Hardware Configuration (Profibus DP/Sinamics/Sinamics DCM/DCM Advanced CUD) a red triangle appears in the right lower corner of the slave. If I do the same thing with from Profibus DP/Additional field devices/Drives/Sinamics (GSD file), the red triangle doesn' appear anymore. The problem is that I cannot find GSD file for version 1.4 and that the configuration interface (object properties) of the two slaves is different (the one with GSD file has fewer tabs). DCM from hereProfibus DP/Additional field devices/Drives/Sinamics (GSD file) is manually installed GSD-file via menu 'Options - Install GSD File'. DCM from hereProfibus DP/Sinamics/Sinamics DCM/ installed by Starter SSP. There will be no difference for communication from where you insert slave. But using slave fromProfibus DP/Sinamics/Sinamics DCM is more flexible for configuration. If I'm not mistaken red triangle means that gsd-file installed by installation of additional software, such as DriveES, Starter, and may be some else. If you need gsd for V1.4 you need to install latestStarter V4.3.3.1. GSD V1.4 also availablehere.

KSN Platinum Member Joined: 8/25/2006 Last visit: 12/2/2024 Posts: 2211 Rating: (280)	It looks like red triangle means also that drive program (parameter list) will be integrated in S7-project, i.e. you will see the drive in project tree in Simatic Manager, and you cuold open its parameters (in Starter or DriveMonitor) by double-click the drive.
