I would like to know if there is any way to configure redundancy using two 1515 CPUs that I already have. I understand that redundancy typically requires dedicated R CPUs, but I cannot purchase additional R models at this time.

Is there any workaround to achieve redundancy with 1515 CPUs or is it strictly mandatory to use R CPUs for this purpose?

To achieve redundancy with Siemens S7-1500 series CPUs, it is generally recommended to use the S7-1515R CPUs, which are specifically designed for redundancy. The S7-1515R CPUs support media redundancy (S2 redundancy) and are built to handle failover scenarios seamlessly.

With the CPUs you have you could only get an s1 redundancy, in which connected to a periphery, if this connection drops, it can go another way. You need a SIMATIC S7-1500R/H system so that the user's program can be run in parallel.
