houssem11 Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Dear Ms/Mr i would like to establish a communication between s7 1214c and s7 412-5h i would like to use the PN/IO port integrated in the two PLC this communication would be redundant so what Connection type i can use (Open User Communications or S7 communication or what other )?? Pittiplatsch Posts: 1368 Rating: (128)	hello, what kind of redundnacy do you want to realize? Rind redundancy like MRP? This function is not supported bythe S7-1200, you need 2 PN Interfaces therefore. You can establish an open communication between S7-1200 and S7-400, but no redundancy via open communication blocks.

Pittiplatsch Posts: 1368 Rating: (128)	The SIMATIC S7-400H suitable as a controller for high-availability processes, with two H CPUs of the same type; in the event of a fault, changeover takes place from the master system to the standby station. The method of event-driven synchronization supports fast and bumpless changeover to the redundant CPU in the event of a fault. It resumes processing at the point of interruption without any loss of information or interrupts. So you only communicate with one PLC (Master or Reserve); the intercommuniation between the H-PLCs is handled via the sync-modules. You can connect the S7-1200 via a Switch with the 2 H-PLCs.

Pittiplatsch Posts: 1368 Rating: (128)	Hello, if your S7-400H supports the T-blocks, you can use them. Otherwise you configure a s7-communication with PUT/GET. But please note: do not use optimized data blocks in the S7-1200. This will not work with the S7-400 as partner. Good luck!
