Redundancy over profibus

NOAMYUZUK Posts: 30 Rating: (0)	Hi I design a system with 417H PLC so i have redundancy system with 2 cpu, 2 system of profibus I wanna know if the solution for redundancy is just for the cpu or also if there is broken profibus wire - RS485 OR FIBER OPTIC there will be switch over of the master slave of the profibus? NOAM

RameshK Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hi NOAMYUZUK, If CPU1 fails in any aspects, it will bestopped and CPU2 willbe switched over as master in Redundant configuration.CPU1 failure can be due to profibus connection failure also. Normally the profibus will be used for Distributed IO connection from the CPU. So if you use redundant capable ET200M interface module and connect it to both the CPUs, thenafter theswitchover from CPU1 to CPU2, the IOsconnected throughprofibus also will be scanned from CPU2.
