REDUNDANCY(Primary,Secondary PLS)

Dear All,

For now i develope project at TIA (v15).

So my simpled configuration is the next:

1) CPU 1517-3 PN/DP

2) IM 151-3 PN (5 devices)

3) hMI Panels IM 151-3 PN (2 devices)

4) SINAMICS CU230P-2 PN (2 devices)

5) WinCC Professional

But some times later I will connect to my network second PLC (also CPU 1517-3 PN/DP) - this PLC should be secondary. It should to work in case of hardware errors or network fault on primary PLC.

I am new at S7-1500 REDUNDANCY. I found topic about ring topology, but nothing about settings,

Is anybody have experience ?

1) Are there any step by step instruction ?

2) What settings release PLC1 and PLC2 synchronize?

3) How profinet devices should be assigned. For example, at TIA network view IM 151-3 PN constantly assigned to PLC 1 (Port X1). So how it will reassign to PLC2  in case when PLC 1 go to fault?

4) May be for  REDUNDANCY I need for another software (not TIA) - for example PCS 7, and my TIA project doesn't matter anymore !!! ((((.

Ohh, i faund the next topic PLC 1500R 1500H ring and TIA v15.1

hmmmm...So, Is  my two 1517-3 PN DP  are wrong for Primary/Backup configuration?

Hallo Alexander,

For CPU redundante you have to use S7-1517H together with TIA Portal V15 SP1. This System is new on the market. Synchronisation Cables are Used (Fibre Optik).
