redundancy with S7 313C-2DP

Ahmed.tn Bronze Member Joined: 11/10/2010 Last visit: 8/29/2024 Posts: 170 Rating: (9)	Hello, I'm doing tests on two CPU 313C-2DP, I have no ET200M redundant in stock, so I did the test with only two CPUs, the result in the status word redundancy in both CPUs is: 1 - For CPU A: 2 # 0010_0000_0000_0110 2 - For CPU B: 2 # 0010_0000_0000_1010 Which mean that both CPUs operate in slave mode !!!!!? no master. Can you have an idea? I thought maybe I can not have a master in the absence of ET200M! can you help me pls!

H-H Platinum Member Joined: 7/2/2008 Last visit: 9/30/2024 Posts: 928 Rating: (308)	Hello Ahmed, It's been a long time since I've worked with software redundancy but as far as I can remember, it was not possible to start both CPUs with absence of all ET200Ms. It's just my own speculation, I think both CPUs will think that something is wrong with their DP master interfacesand will act as a standby CPU. From your status word, it's clear that redundant link has been established which is a good sign (but it doesn't mean you have finished) but both CPUs can't communicate with any DP slave. Even if my speculation is wrong, it's still not possible to tolerate the absence of all DP slaves and any work under this situation may lead you to deceiving results. You will have to wait until you get ET200M and start the real fun. Best regards. H-H

You need to use atleast one redundant bundle of ET200M on active bus connector for IM and IO each on profibus DP portbcozatleast one module (DI/DO/AI/AO) in that particular rackis necessaryto achieve software redundancy otherwise result is not fruitful. Ahmed.tn Bronze Member Joined: 11/10/2010 Last visit: 8/29/2024 Posts: 170 Rating: (9)	thanks a lot Mr H-H, i think you are wrong about the impossibility to sheck right reddundancy software without having a DP-Slave, personaly i made mor tests and sheks and always i have the same results, two CPU working as slave, so i think the better is to wait for the ET200M bundle red to finish sheks, thanks for help^, i will be always online for any asks, i have 06 years experience in siemens S7300 and S7400 plateforms.
