Redundant Ethernet communication between WinCC/WinFlex and S7 300/400 AS

If yes can you provide with the necessary BOM? I want to use single SCADA Station with at least 6 stand alone PLC systems. SCADA to PLC shall communicate on redundant ethernet as shown in the diagram. ifone connection of the PLC fails other shall become active without disturbing communication. Thanks. HRS Dear HRS, Do you need two ethernet cards on PLC rack or only two ways of communication (hardwired)? Why don't you use ring topology? There is another option that is consider your AS system as redundant system. I do not know if you need like that.

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello HRS, if you want to implement your system like shown in the drawing you will need three things: 1) The PLC have to be S7-400 H CPUs, which means you need components for a fault-tolerant system. 2)It would be the best wayfor implementing this solution by using the software package S7Redconnect. This software handles the two redundant connections to the PLCs. 3) You will have to use two CP1613 A2 or CP1623in your SCADA station. If you use other network adapters you cannot use S7RedConnect software. If you consider these three points, it should be possible to implement a system like you requested. I hope this will help you. Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello HRS, if you use 300 CPUs instead of 400H CPUs you have to handle the connections on your own. What application do you have on the PC station? WinCC or OPC, too?

But with WinCC I don't know if its possible to observe both connections and switch between them... I really think that the best way would be S7 400H CPUs instead of S7 300. Regards
