Redundant Server & Client in --> PCS7 V7.0 SP1

Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hi All, I am working on PCS7 V7.0 SP1 project which has ES, Redundant Server and a client. The redundancy settings in the Servers are thru and both are put into run time. In the client, the Server data are loaded successfully. My problem is that, the Client is only communicating with the Master Server. When ever the Master Server is shut down, even the client goes down and is not getting switched to Standby Server. At the same time standby Server generates a alarm that “connection with master server is interrupted”. Can any one let me know why the client is unable to switch to Standby Server when ever Main Server goes down?? Regards Nil

Ammy Platinum Member Joined: 4/19/2008 Last visit: 11/21/2024 Posts: 1525 Rating: (159)	Hi, For the above problem you have to checked 2-3 settings · In OS configuration checked One OS is WinCC Application & other one is WinCC Application (stby). · Also checked in WinCC Redundancy you have defined the Standby Server path. · During OS assignment you have click on both OS i.e. Master & Standby. Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hi CBo, 1) I am able to explore all the PC's from each one of them on the network. 2) Simatic shell settings for redundant server are ok. They all are pointing to the correct lan card too. 3) For the client machine, I loaded the package from the Master Server. I hope that this package contains the info about the Redundant Server too... 4) When the Main Server is de-activated, in the Client machine-->Server Status, I am able to see the status "Main Server--> connection- not established" and "Standby Server--> connection-Established". 5) When ever the main server is de-activated, the Standby Server generates a message "connection to the main server is interrupted". With all this I think, some thing is missing which is becoming difficult for me to realise what exactly it is. Regards Nil
