REG: SITRANS P AND 314-2DP

Hunky Posts: 82 Rating: (6)	Dear All, I am doing a small project with S7-300(CPU 314-2DP) PLC and Sitrans P (Model no:7MF4033-1BA10-1AA6). I am facing some problems. 1. Transmitter isshowing 4-20mA with pressure range of 0-1bar with Multimeter. But when i connect to AI Card it is just showing 6.5mA for 1Bar. It is getting struck or the value is not increasing in AI Card (although the transmitter is giving 20mA). 2. I have checked the card with 4-20mA Current Source. It is showing perfectly (4-20mA). I have changed the channel and as well as card. But the problem is same. What is the problem here? Is there is nay fault with the transmitter or with the card? Thanks in advance. Please help me.

dchartier Grandmaster Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 12/6/2024 Posts: 12301 Rating: (2691)	Hello PLC Engineer; For better information from the forum, you should provide these details: -the model number of your Analog Input card -a schematic of the connections you are using on that card (all of them, please). I have a feeling you are not providing adequate separation between channels for your module. For each AI module there are specific requirements for connecting the Mana and shorting/opening of unused channels. You could also check the S7-300 module data manual for the same information. Hunky Posts: 82 Rating: (6)	Thanks for your advice. I am attaching you the connection drawings in pdf format.Here i am using 314C-2DP CPU which is having inbuild AI and DI. I am connecting at the proper channel for mA measurement. I have checked with current simulator, it is working fine. Moreover i have given the 24VDC supply to transmitter from the PLC Power supply. We needed to know to what terminals you were connected, and how the different terminals were connected together on the front connector. Where is the power to the PLC analog modules connected to? Are you using the M_ana connection to ground all othercommon pins fron other channels? Channels are generally not isolated one from another in the compact CPUs; you have to ensure they are, by adequate wiring. Here is a list of FAQs that Siemens support prepared for the wiring of analog IOs. Since you are using a 4-wire transmitter (the Sitrans P has its own source of power, it is an active transmitter) skip the 2-wire explanations.
