Regarding the order of QW addresses in PLC 1200

I have bought PLC 1200 (6ES7 215-1HG31-0XB0) along with the DO module (6ES7 222-1BF32-0XB0). I successfully wired them, and everything works just fine. https://ibb.co/JdtkTNY Currently, I am facing an issue, regarding the order of the QW address. The main PLC has 10 Digital Outputs. I have used QW 0, and the output working just fine. The issue is the additional DO module I do not know QW? https://ibb.co/VC7zYT5 For example for QW 0 (10 Outputs) 2048, 1024, 512, 256 32768, 16384, 8192, 4096 2, 1 For the second Module (DO), I do not know QW ? to make the other LED lights ON It is supposed to be for the second module QW1, but nothing happened. I have tried QW2, 3, 4, ---- QW8 also nothing happened. I need to cover the other QW such as 8, 4 128, 64, 32, 16

dchartier Grandmaster Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 1/26/2025 Posts: 12331 Rating: (2702)	Hello Carbondale; Maybe a little documentation on the S7-1200 can help you out, have a look at the S7-1200 System Manual: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ca/en/view/91696622 In the screenshot below, taken from that manual, you will find that you (the programmer) select the start address of every signal module attached to the CPU rack. The image shows you in which screenyou can do that, and how to retrieve the start address of any module, whether it was assigned manually (by the programmer) or automatically by the hardware configuration, upon creation of the signal module. The teacher is then more able to see the roadblocks that makes the road difficult for the student. Experience and theoretical background in turn assist the teacher. For the here and now you are the student. Please give us the ability to see you problem. Make some screen captures that highlights exactly where you are stuck. The S7-1200 system manual is a MUST read. The memory management is important now, but mastering the manual is essential for you. Careful -- the PLC you have is a firmware V3.0. The current generation PLCs have some (speciality) functionality that the older ones do not have. Best to get the manual that suits the PLC you have. Quick hints: Siemens PLC works with byte addressing. QW0 overlaps with QB0 and QB1 which in turn can be broken down into bits Q0.0 to Q0.7 and Q1.0 to Q1.7. A hardware components occupy full byte addresses. It may happen that a bit is not linked to a physical input/output. What are your thoughts?
