Hello SIOS Forum Community, In customer discussions the question often arises about how a SIMATIC Panel or a WinCC Runtime Advanced can be operated and monitored remotely. This requirement can be realized with WinCC Sm@rtServer. The Sm@rtServer is an option package of WinCC and is based on VNC technology. It enables remote operation and monitoring of SIMATIC HMI products via Industrial Ethernet over the Intranet and Internet. The Sm@rtServer is available for use on selected SIMATIC HMI panels or systems with WinCC Runtime Advanced installed. The Sm@rtClient can function either in "view only" mode (no operating rights) or with operating rights as a full-fledged operator station. Just as with the VNC system, the server's screen is mirrored on the client and the operating commands are forwarded from the client to the server. The Sm@rtServer is activated with one click via the TIA Portal engineering system ("Runtime settings" of the device -> "Services" -> "Start Sm@rtServer"). Further settings (e.g. configuration of passwords etc.) can be made on the respective HMI system. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109794201/143296950795 Sequence platforms & licensing
Various options are available for operating and monitoring the Sm@rt server:
The number of connected Sm@rtClients (which can simultaneously connect to a Sm@rtServer) depends on the respective operating device.
