Hello SIOS Forum Community. WinCC flexible runtime applications are getting on in years, often the question of renewing the underlying PC hardware arises in connection with the change of the operating system to Windows 10. If a migration of the application to WinCC Advanced Runtime (engineering in TIA Portal) is not desired or necessary, the WinCC flexible application can still be operated on a current hardware platform. With Service Pack 5 for WinCC flexible 2008, operation under Windows 10 has been released: Delivery release: Service Pack 5 for SIMATIC WinCC flexible 2008. WinCC flexible Runtime 2008 SP5 was also explicitly released for current SIMATIC industrial PCs and is still offered as a "Software Package for SIMATIC IPC": Updated list of software packages with SIMATIC IPC. The existing licence for the runtime software of version 2008 on the PC to be replaced can continue to be used without restriction on the new PC for runtime operation in version 2008 SP5 and is transferred to the new PC with the help of the installed Automation License Manager. A licence upgrade is not necessary. The runtime software in version 2008 SP5 must be installed on the new PC. As a registered customer, this can be downloaded free of charge from SIOS: SIMATIC WinCC flexible 2008 TRIAL Download In addition, we recommend the installation of the following update: Update 2 for WinCC flexible 2008 Service Pack 5. Furthermore, the project must be converted and regenerated in advance in the WinCC flexible engineering system in version 2008 SP5 in order to be loaded onto the new runtime system. The aforementioned links also apply to the download of the WinCC flexible engineering software in version 2008 SP5 UD2. An existing licence key for version 2008 can still be used for the engineering software. Best regards, SIMATIC Internation Technical Support Hub |
