These machines are very similar, most of the variables have the same names (i.e. manual_A for machine A and manual_B for machine B, and so on).Also the program units are very similar, so when I need to create theprogram of machine B after then I have created the program of machine A it would be useful for me to use the function FIND AND REPLACE (replace _A with _B).FIND AND REPLACE function is available in ST, but not in MCC and LADDER. Actually for LADDER unit I have to export the unit as a .EXP, Ireplace using an editor program and then I importthe .EXP (It is acomplex method). For the MCC unit I haven't solution. Someone have a better idea? (I use Scout ver.V4.1.1.0) Thankyou. Davide

ThomasD Posts: 39 Rating: (9)	Hello Davide It is correct that "replace in the project" works on the whole project. By global selection (filter settings) you cannot select a single unit. - If you have the programs for machine_A and machine_B in different controllers, you can select the concerned controller by the filter settings and let everything replace only for that selected controller. - Further you can save the project under another name, let all units be renamed and replace the desired unit in the original project. - Further all names are not exchanged automatically. At first you get a list with the found variables. In this list one can still select whether the name on this program position has to be renamed. Afterwards you must confirm the selection. Waiting sistem improvements from Siemens I will do what you suggest to me, even if itisa little bit twisted and slow way (it would be easy with a simple FIND AND REPLACE if it would works).
