Replacing CPU315F

KTM990SM Posts: 9 Rating: (1)	Hello. Just a quick question to anyone out there. I need to replace a CPU315F-2 PN/DP for another with the exact same part number (the mode selector switch has been snapped off by persons unknown on the one which is to be removed). Is the process as simple as fitting the new CPU, inserting the MMC card from the original CPU, then carryingout a CPU memory reset so that the CPU copies the contents of the MMC to the work memory. The manual states that 'runtime relevant content' is copied. Does this include the hardware config, and will the hardware config from the original CPU be automatically stored on the MMC? Any advice or information will be most gratefully received.

If the CPU is not the same the CPU will ask for an overall reset. How do you reset a SIMATIC S7-300 CPU and MMC (default reset or overall reset)? Please note that all M-memory and DB's are setback to it's initial state, so if there are i.e.any machine settings changed in the old CPU the settings will be setback to it's Original state.
