Replacing servomotor with safety limited speed activated

After exchanging a procedure has to be done as in the manual FHS safety integrated function manual, chapter 11, p399 : Information pertaining to component replacements. At the end of the procedure, at point 6, there is said : 'Carry out a POWER ON (power off/on) for all components. Is the power on really necessary, or are there other ways to achieve the same goal?
