Hello experts.

I hope this is the right forum for this as the question relates to WinCC RT professional.

I've been struggling with a problem with report system error. I'm using step 7 V5.5 / SP4 for the CPU (314C-2 PN/DP) and WinCC Professional V14 SP1 for the runtime enviroment.

So I have generated the RSE blocks to the PLC (FB2049,FC2049,DB2049,DB2050) and the diagnostic status DB with number 2127, named RSE_DB.

In TIA portal, I've made the device proxy and its functioning in all the other areas of the project, but when I check the box "Controller alarms" from the Update proxy data dialog, I get 21 errors and warnings after I compile the project. I've attached a screenshot about it.

When I try to check where the error is, the software won't let me see specific point of error ( with "Go to" function). I'm suspecting it has something to do with the protocol tag of a controller alarm. Attached a screenshot of this also.

Should the program generate the protocol tag automatically? If not and if this is the compiling error I keep getting, what type of a tag should I assign there? And what does the protocol tag do exactly?

I think i solved the problem. After some more digging through the forums I've found a thread about the same problem I was having.

The tags I thought were giving the problem were indeed the right ones. So by recreating the connection between RT and device proxy the software generated the missing tags and after that the program compiled succesfully.

The tags created are of the datatype RAW. Tags are generated to the default tag table under "System tags". They are named RDT_RawDataLog and RDT_RawEvent, from which the RDT_RawEvent is the one used by the controller alarms both for protocol tag and akcnowledgement.

Case closed, hope this can be of some help if someone stumbles to the same issue again in the future.
