Resetting SLM from CU

Daveed Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi, we have the warning froma SLM wired into the CU, but we don't know how to use this input to reset the SLM when needed (the CU has an output sent to the SLM to reset it). We ended up having to wire this toa plc which sends an output back to the SLM to reset it. We got the original wiring setup from Siemen's and was wondering howit is possible to work in this original arrangement. We were only able to reset this warning by powering down the module as it looks for a rising edge when receiving the reset which is sometimes missed. Any information would be greatly appreiated, Thanks, Dave

Drives_Coach Posts: 133 Rating: (13)	My guess is that you have a 5 or 10kW SLM as these units have a fault reset input on terminal 3 of X22. If this comes from a programmable DO of the CU320 then it must be programmed for this. If you list the I/O terminal it is wired to someone could probably help you verify the parameter setting. Cheers

Cheers Thanks for your reply. We had it wired as you suggested, but the problem was configuring the CU's output to reset the SLM (at terminal 3). What parameter or input do you connect to this output while realizing the SLM must see a rising edge signal? Anything I saw would find itself getting tuning on the output too sonn in some cases which would mean the SLM would miss the rising edge. Thanks in advance, Dave

Drives_Coach Posts: 133 Rating: (13)	If you look at the control word chart attached normally you would have a fault resettied into P2102.This could be from a Profibus bit or areset switch wired into a binary input on the CU320. The acknowledge fault bit (r2138.7) can be BICO connected to a digital output on the CU320 which could be wired into X22.3 terminal on the 5 or 10kw SLM.
