Actually, the more resolution you have, your input module is more sensitive to the signal.

For example, on the 12 bit resolution module, you can sense each 0.00244140625 volt change in your signal, but on the 13 bit resolution that value would be 0.001220703125 volt which means your module is more sensitive.

In order to calculate the resolution you need to divide your signal range (in your case 10 – 0 =10 volt) to the resolution sqrt(2).

(10v – 0v)/ (2sqrt (12)) = 10v/ (4096) = 0.00244140625

S7-200 was TI built, its not Siemens engineered.

The idea of this strange numbers is old, once the AD converter were 8-bit then 12, etc. So what the did to make easy to exchange? Simply, they shifted to the left the word representing ana value. No matter what resolution is, you have always the same numbers (you can use the same FC - scale unscale), the difference is that there are gaps between levels - resolution.
