retentive question

i am using a logo 0ba8 and a ktp700 hmi with soft comfort v8 and tia portal v13 sp1 and i am running into a problem storing values set with a symbolic i/o field in the HMI. Is this possible at all with my setup? 

I'd like the selection made in a dropdown menu to become the default in the case of loss of power.

The machine i am controlling with the PLC/HMI  has a motorized carriage that goes back and forth between two limit switches. The number of times the machine goes back and forth is dependent on what product we are running in the machine. That number may change over time due to several variables, so i would like to be able to set that number on an admin screen in the HMI, but i do not want to have to reset that number every time the machine is turned off. 
I'd like to use a symbolic i/o field to select between 1 and 6 passes for at least 3 different products (one symbolic i/o field per product with 6 selections each, 1-6)
Hopefully that answers your question. I assume that means fixed values, but i am a ***ie.

You must store the settings or values in the LOGO!

There are several possibilytries to do this.

So yiu can use a COUNTER block and store ther the value that you wisch.

You must set the Retentive of that counterblock ON

Take a look.

I don't know all KTP700 features, but there are eigh onscreen function keys. I have considered the use of them.

The program has two options: 2 and 4 cicles. You can expand whenever you want.

There are several things to implement:

1. Interlock: each new start depends on refreshing counters and choosing what cicle's number will be done. 

2. Power loss: the carriage will be between the two limit switchies. Automatic mode will not act up.

3. Coil seals, thermal contact, etc.

Something else, please ask.
