RFID issue

Kokeilija Member Joined: 3/30/2021 Last visit: 3/18/2025 Posts: 9 Rating: (1)	I am using an RFID reader equipped with a USB cable (6GT2831-6BA50) and an HMI unit MTP 400 (6AV2123-3DB32-0AW0). https://mall.industry.siemens.com/mall/en/WW/Catalog/Product/6GT2831-6BA50 https://mall.industry.siemens.com/mall/en/WW/Catalog/Product/6AV2123-3DB32-0AW0 The problem is that the display does not support directly connecting the RFID reader. The menus do not include an option for 'Enable authentication via RFID card'. Is there any way to make the reader work through the HMI unit? The system does not use a computer, so connecting through one is not possible. The CPU unit is an S7-1200. Although communication modules are available for this, I would prefer not to purchase additional components. Thank you for your help

Stefan Arcularius Platinum Expert Joined: 1/21/2013 Last visit: 4/24/2025 Posts: 3775 Rating: (590)	Hi Kokeilija, In contrast to the WinCC Unified Comfort Panels, no RFID reader is listed as an accessory for the WinCC Unified Basic Panels. So I assume that the Basic Panels do not support user authentication via RFID (at least for the time being). Kind regards Stefan
