Just posting this in the hope that others do not get caught out.

Despite producing a manual and application example (linked below), the Unified Panels cannot currently support central user login with RFID. The user gets logged in, great, but they do not get the user permissions associated with that logged in user. It is therefore of no use. Siemens know about this, but still decided to publish the manual. 

Apparently it may get fixed in the next firmware update for the panels, or it may not. Not great for those of us who have already purchased it and now had to go back to our customer to say, actually even though we thought it was released on the basis of this manual and pplication example, it doesn't work properly.

 This does work for Unified PC Runtime.
