RM fault: RM recives test frames only on one ring port

Dear All,

Normally we have a standard ring solution for our projects (x216 as ring manager & x208 on the field as clients). All used port 1 & 2 to make up the loop.

Currently I have one project with 1x x216 & 43x x208. When I used port1 or port2 individually, all seems working ok, I mean I am able to see all switches & other profinet/network devices. However I have the Non-recoverable ring error once I closed the loop, and the fault LED will be steady on.

I checked all clients, didn't see another RM. Also all ports seems to follow the port 1 & 2 rules.

Any idea for this?

cwb_2000 Regular Member Joined: 6/7/2013 Last visit: 10/7/2022 Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hi there, Found today that one field switch had the wrong ring port connected. We used the port 1 & 2, but one port had been connected to port 5. Corrected it and problem solved. KR Wilson
