Hi!

Have anyone do connection between 

IPC + OS + IE General + IE General + SOFNET IE RNA + SOFTNET-IE S7 REDCONNECT VM

connected to LAN A and LAN B (PRP networks) 

and connected to S7-400H with

CPU + CP443-1 RNA + CPU + CP443-1 RNA

I am attaching arhitecture for better understanding.

Is feasible solution?

In Release notes Simatic NET V13 /"SOFTNET-IE S7 REDCONNECT VM" is written that is possible have fault tolerant connection to S7-400H with use IE General card.

In Fault-tolerant Process Control Systems is mentioned PRP network only for terminal bus/not plant bus. 

What could be advantage of this configuration compared to classic:

IPC + OS() + CP1623 +CP1623 + HARDNET S7 + REDCONNECT

connected to LAN 1 and LAN 1 (2 independent network) 

and connected to S7-400H with

CPU + CP443-1(LAN1)+ CP443-1(LAN2) + CPU + CP443-1(LAN1)+ CP443-1(LAN2)

Siemens help support confirmed that arhitecture is possible.

IE general have to suport "Jumbo frames" which nowdays 1Gb LAN interfaces already support.
