Siemens support - will you please respond to this question, we would like to know the upgrade path as well. We received the following file: 2600289 bytes ROSv4.3.0.zip which unzips to these: 743865 bytes ReadMe_OSS.pdf 38451 bytes Release-Notes-4-3-0.pdf 419594 bytes ROS-CF52_Boot_v4-0-0.zb 1467382 bytes ROS-CF52_Main_v4.3.0.zb We have many RS900 devices, similar to: Order Code RS900-HI-D-C2-C2-00 Classification Controlled Boot Version v2.20.0 (Nov 22 2012 14:19) Main Version v3.12.2 (Aug 27 2013 12:31) Required Boot v2.20.0 Hardware ID RS900 (v2, 40-00-0066) We are receiving timeouts when xferring ROS-CF52_Boot_v4-0-0.zb to the device via tftp. Do you have suggestions as to how to go about upgrading our systems via tftp? Or is Rugged Explorer anywhere available? Even logged in, I cannot find where to download Rugged Explorer. |

I have no idea why my last post (containing a link to a version of Rugged Explorer) was deleted without any further notice. Anyway - here is a short log on how I updated an ancient RS900... - device: RS900, non controlled (NC), HW: Rev A2, RS900V2 with MCF5272CVN66, all IP services enabled (telnet, ssh, rsh, web) - requested latest firmware version for RS900 from service - got 4.3.3 with boot 4.0.0. and 3.8.3 with boot 2.15.1 - service told me to update first to 3.8 - used RuggedExplorer 1.4 (found it in the net, sha1 of the file is used is 622eb2c9cc442f3060d690d10391bf648ebb38f0) to update boot and main to 2.15.1 resp. 3.8.3 - device came back without any changes - used RuggedExplorer 1.4 to update boot and main to 4.0.0 / 4.3.3 used ROS-CF52_Boot_v4-0-0.zb and ROS-CF52_Main_v4.3.3.zb provided by service as the switch uses the MCF5272 (there are also *MCP83* files in the archive) - Important: after installing the update only the web-interface was active - all other services are disabled |
