Routing in TIA

captinjon Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Hopefully a really simple question someone can help me understand... I have a 1215 which has ip address 192.168.1.51, it is connected to a router (port 2). The routers wan is 10.1.101.117, which was assigned by DHCP. My laptop is 10.1.101.52, also assigned by DHCP. I can ping the router wan port fine but how do I setup TIA to understand that the plc is behind the routers wan? Sorry if this is a really basic question.....

captinjon Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Thanks MrPaiva, I can get the monitor blocks method to work in TIA just by changing the configured CPU's IP to that of the WAN side of the router. When it comes to downloading blocks however TIA is slightly different to STEP 7 classic. I have attached a picture oftheinput box you get in STEP 7 Classic, where it is possible to change the IP address of the node you wish to connect to. Where is this option in TIA? Thank you. My problem is that if i try and download through TIA, it is expecting the PLC to be reachable at its configured IP adress say 192.168.1.51, but in reality it is behind a router IP 10.1.101.117. For monitoring i can set the configured IP of the PLC to 10.1.101.117 (with port forwarding in the router) then i can monitor blocks in the PLC. I cannot use this method however for downloads since it trys to connect directly to 192.168.1.51 which it is unavailable because it is hidden behind the router. In Step 7 classic there was the option to change the IP address in the window i attached in my earlyer post (if i set this to 10.1.101.117 then i would be able to download to the PLC). This option doesnt seam to be in TIA however.

You've probably already got your Default Gateway set to 10.1.101.117 but maybe TIA is not picking this up. i.e. go to the DOS prompt and type...(assuming a /24 subnet mask here) Route Add 192.118.1.00 Mask 255.255.255.0 10.1.101.117 metric 1 for help with syntax just type Route Add?
