Routing through PC670 to PLC

bjelko Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I have connected PC 670 with Protool runtime to CPU 414-3 DP through MPI. PC670 is also connected to ethernet. Is it possible to connect from my PG/PC (on ethernet) toPLCtomonitor, changeprogram...etcover PC670 with some type of routing? How?Thanks.

CPU412 2-2DP connected to slave modules (ET 200 M; Encoders; etc. etc.) via DP The PC is just used for Prootool Run Time, one customer is asking if is it possible to give himassistance via VPN. So this is the question:is it possible to see the slave connected to the DP bus via MPI? Regards andThank you in advance.

If I understood, you want via VPN to establishe connection with PC and then from there to make "diagnostic" function above this S7 system. Hope this will helps. Best regards

Without extra hardware. I thought just to use this PC (of course with Step7 on it) to monitor this CPU and its slaves. Only I don't know, if this PC has already assigned with Protool RT, if would be possible to go online with Step7. I never thought about this... Best regards

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear UMENCHO, well, in my opinion it has to work, at least under certain circumstances. First of all the Internet connection is done with a Router with VPN Gateway. If you then use the PC the way it is shown in the FAQ I mentioned, in this case the system runs like a PC, it has to work. I use it myself in comparable ways. My only doubt is WinCC flexible, I doubt that it is possible to use the Ethernet and MPI connection in the configured way, as it is needed, but I am not sure. Best regards J_Bell
