RS232 -TTY interface

jm1983 Bronze Member Joined: 12/14/2010 Last visit: 5/25/2023 Posts: 160 Rating: (5)	hello to all I need to connect a S5-95U to a commercial PC and i don't have the interface to make it,but I have an idea and i want to consult it with you and that you give me your opinions. I have a bus driver C73451-A347-B202 (and the power pack 6DR2900-8BA ) for to connect several SIPART DRs with interfaces RS232 (conector DB9 in the bus driver), to a PC using communication RS232 or to a CP 524/544B of a S5 using TTY (conector DB25 in the bus driver). The idea is the following one: - I configure the bus driver for the communication with a CP of a S5 through TTY and the communication with the SIPART DRs is with RS232 always, of course. - Knowing the distribution of pins of each side, I build two connection cables, for to use the connection RS232 of the bus driver (for the SIPART DRs) for the PC port and the connection TTY (for the CP) with for the S5 port(SINEC L1). what do you say?

They have USB - S5 cable and I have tried it and it's easy to use. S5-Inteface Products from Process Informatik. Hope this helps.

Köster-Box (PC-S5-Interface) Interface for programming Siemens S5-PLCs with the PC.
