RS485 device error

dotai Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi everyone I have an advance IOT2050 device. I want to set X30 to RS485 mode and run a program to read temperature from slave device. This is my environment: root@iot2050-debian:~# ls /dev/serial/by-path/ -l total 0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Mar 11 07:23 platform-xhci-hcd.0.auto-usb-0:1.4:1.0-port0 -> ../../ttyUSB0 # this indicate that my serial dev is /dev/ttyUSB0 root@iot2050-debian:~# switchserialmode cp210x -D cp2102n24 -d rs485 active-logic(low) setup-time(0x00aa) hold-time(0x00aa) # this is consistent to my previous run iot2050setup command settings # but when I run my program, it run into an error like bellow root@iot2050-debian:~# ./proxy-ttyusb0 2021/03/11 08:19:46 Connected to tcp://4.12.10.48:1883 2021/03/11 08:19:46 SYS_IOCTL (RS485): inappropriate ioctl for device # this error is same to run command as bellow root@iot2050-debian:~# switchserialmode ttyuart -D /dev/ttyUSB0 -d Error: Inappropriate ioctl for device # I checked ttyUSB0 is exist in /dev folder all it seems that the dev is incorrect setting, anyone can help, I will be very appreciate it.

jan-k Silver Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 9/29/2023 Posts: 567 Rating: (43)	Hard to say what you program does without seeing the code. But note that there is no native IOCTL support for switching to RS485 via the tty interface for these ports. That's why there is the separate tool.
