I need to program a PLC to make reading a central fire have a PLC with S71200 CM1241 RS485 connection to the center where she has a protocol converter modbus rtu slave, so my connection will be central to the PLC 485 rs will stand as master and depending on a range of smoke detectors and glass break will trigger a certain output of electromagnets that triggered PLC and shut some doors, also will have a supervisory monitoring ellipse E3 with a map of the plant where the sensors are. my doubts as to the right configuration for the PLC to read the plant. en annex the allocation of the central points. cladinei Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	good morning I do not know which blocks to use to communicate, the S71200 with expander CM1241 RS485 is that with the central fire configured as a slave modbus rtu, already tried with blocks modbus MB_COMM_LOAD with MB_MASTER and also with the blocks menu poit-to-point and the PORT_CFG RCV_PTP, I doubt I would make a statement poit poit-to-Modbus or what the right way to confiurar? Maybe the text is not clear because I'm using a translator. thank you

I would suggest to all to make a kind of serial sniffer on PC first, and first of all download a modbus master that works on PC. Only then when you are sure that your device is working is time to debug simatic program.

When a protocol has got a specification of a user organisation (like Modbus)or a vendor (like 3964R), a user should rely on products which refer to this specification. For me it is not necessary to check whether the connected device meets this specification. If somebody uses a sniffer he needs knowledge of the protocol. Due to my experience you can use the sample projects and evaluate the error/status output to come along and succeed. A lot of threads here are started because users do not evaluate the outputs of the standard functionsor do not know how to do it. Asking is much more comfortable than reading and thinking.
