rtwo ethernet cards redundancy issue

marinb126 Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	hi all, i have a question. i have two ethernet cards in my computer and wincc is using one of them. if one fails how should i make that the other oneimmediatelytakesoverthefunction of the first one??

As a good practice before install any add-on make a full backup of your OS partition and projects since there is a good chance you will have to restore it. Another option (recommended) is to use Teaming with your 2 x NIC and a professional software (See Intel solutions etc) Dec

marinb126 Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	ok, i have redconnect and i have added one cp1613 and one broadcom lan card in netpro under Pc station.when i download this configuration to plc nothing happens. in my station configurator there are both cp 1613 and broadcom lan card shown.when redconnect starts nothing is swown on the program screen.what to do?

marinb126 Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	correction, redconnet displays both interfaces (cp and lan broadcom) with s7connections but there is also state "NotUsed" and error no. 0 ( =there are no errors).

April Posts: 1776 Rating: (95)	Hi, see FAQ http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/2361347for installing a redundant system, but if you have only a redundant ethernet card on the PC (no H-system) then redundancy is not possible.

marinb126 Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	i have H-system, but only one cp 1613 (the other card is broadcom lan card). soredunancy between these two cards is not possible (is there any way to make redundancy with cp1613 + non-siemens lan card)?
