Runtime license check WinCC 7.0

Donehill Posts: 64 Rating: (0)	Hi all, My new server is running on Windows 2003 and Wincc 7.0, I encountered some runtime license issues eventhoughI transferred all the license from the memory stick. The attached is the print screen of the error. The new server has no other Siemens software apart from the newly installed SIMATIC WinCC V7.0 SP1. Thanks in advance. Darius Platinum Member Joined: 9/28/2005 Last visit: 11/5/2024 Posts: 2957 Rating: (242)	Hi, It looks like you use Ethernet communication driver to PLC, so you must transfet to PC not only WinCC license, but this SOFTNET-S7 basis license which is also available on the same USB stick which came with your legal copy of WinCC v7.0

So the question is: have you installed SIMATIC.NET from the same DVD as WinCC v7.0 ? If so than the only way to solve problem is to ask Siemens support. I had similar issue with WinCC v7.0. My problem was that there was no SIMATIC.NET S7-Softnet (Basis) license at all. Siemens solved this problem very quickly. Other thing to try is to install SIMATIC.NET one version lower that you have. It could be that there is newer version in DVD that you need (just my thoughts).
