S_ZSW3B SIC status word 3 not updated for SBT

Siemens_Bindu Experienced Member Joined: 5/6/2019 Last visit: 9/18/2024 Posts: 78 Rating: (0)	I am trying SBT using S71500 + Sinamics S120 drive and the motor 1fk7022 5ak70. I am using communication via SIC/SCC - telegram 701 for the brake test. I followed the Safety Integrated Function Manual. As per session 5.8.4 for configuring the telegram 701 . I selected p0922 = p2079 = telegram 5 . Therefore p2070 and p2071 = 9 p60122 = telegram 701 For programming the TIA I used Fail safe library LDrvSafe . My configuration of the drive and the results are seen in the attached document. When I run the test stop I am getting the corresponding bits in the status word . But when I run the brake test, I am not seeing "brake test selected" from the status word (S_ZSW3B) . The other status word - fr eg S_ZSW1B are updated. Procedure of testing I am giving rising edge to the enable of the control and the status block to activate LDrvSafe block. I am giving "LDrvSafe_SinaTlg701Control_DB".selectBrakeTest and "LDrvSafe_SinaTlg701Control_DB".startBrakeTest = TRUE PS.As per my understanding now, this is the topic heading. The alarm window of the SINAMICS indicates, that the test stop is still running/selected. The warning is mentioning that the brake is closed when selecting the SBT. Please check your starting condition for the SBT and follow the statements in the manual. The pulses must be enabled when SBT is selected. When selected, the speed actual value must not exceed 1 % of the maximum speed (p1082) - and over the complete course of the SBT, it must not exceed a value of 10 % of the maximum speed. The brake(s) must be open.

I did teststop to check if that is working. yes, I removed teststop and then I got this Brake Control Error (10). The SBC is enabled and motor holding brake is selected as configuration. I want to test the SBT. 1) Is it possible to test the SBT with this system? 2) Do I need safe brake relay, if yes how should be the connection wiring of relay with the motor and drive ? 3) Or do I need an external brake to test the SBT. If yes, how that should be connected with the system? Could you please help me to find out the best way to test the SBT.

Could you control the brake without problems when not using the SBT? Check for correct connection and wire breakage of the brake. Set p1278=1 and p9602/p9802=0 (deactivate SBC) and check if the brake is releasing. Also check the correct setting of p1215=1. When not using SBT and when SBC is enabled there is brake control error. Could you please check my questions above about the brake options. (about brake relay and about external brake) I am not sure about the brake function with this combination of motor and drive. I am looking for the best solutiion for enabling the brake option.

Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 10/11/2024 Posts: 5911 Rating: (809)	Hello, like written in my last post, you can find more information using the safe brake relay in chapter 5.1.3.3. of the S120 safety integrated function manual. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109771806 To connect a brake to the PM240-2 you will need a brake relay or a safe brake relay anyway. In case you want to use the safe brake control you have to use the safe brake relay. The SBT could handle internal and external brakes, check chapter 5.2.12 of the S120 safety integrated function manual.
