If you are using a RS232-TTY converter which uses power from CPU port, it can have problem with SI1 of 944 asit does not supply power from this port. If you are using a Siemens PG or a converter with external power supply, it should work OK. SI2 interface has power on the port.
These are integral block that reside in the system memory. Refer to the manual here chapter 11. And you will always have it in the memory.
If you have no other module s other than PS and CPU in the rack and the memory module is cleared, you should be able to go to RUN mode. Also if you are not getting STOP led when CPU mode switch is in STOP position, then that points to some HW problem. |

This makes some sense because IM306 is supposed to be plugged in only in the last slot. |
