Yes it is possible butthere is several ways to get this task done, and wich is the right one depends on wich hardware do yo have at this moment (You culd provide us a list ). Also will be good to have a brief description of what your HMI aplication does, maybe you can mention wich comunication protocol you prefer to use, tell us if you will like to run this new HMI aplication on a PC or a Panel, and let us know if you are trying to "Convert" your old HMI project or start over all. Please privide more details, have a nice day.

farzaneh Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Dear Tebanch, With many thanks for your soon reply, Please be informed that I want to use a PC with wincc software ,and at the first step, I want to create a communication between WINCC and PLC,and just see status of bits and words and create alarm logging,I meenat the first step I'm not going to replace HMI or start over all,I want HMI to continue its working and WINCC just to monitor data in parallel if possible;Other jobs will be done at the next steps. Also please be informed that oprators use this HMI to choose manual or auto mode for controllers(PID)andinsert SV(set value) and other parametersas well as monitoring process conditions and searchingalarm list . If it's useful, I can send you my S5back up program or and hardware configuration. Regards

Also will be good to know if your actual PLC uses a CP at the moment, if so please tell us wich kind of CP is it? Also have a loock to this info: WinCC-S5 Coms. There you will find descritions about the different options you have, after reading this a litle bit yuo will have more info to decide what to do. Good luck.

woisi Posts: 21 Rating: (3)	Hello, first please check if you meen WinCC or WinCC-flexible (there is often a name-confusion between this two systems). With WinCC (V6) we sometimes use a 3COM-Networkcard over Softnet with S5-H1 over CP1430TF (with MAC-Adresses), because there is a lot of communication so this is a better solution. In your case - instead of a OP396 (there´s not too much communication, I think) - you can use a S5-Online-adapter-cable over the COM1/2 of the PC to the communiation port of the CPU. So there is the problem to change the cables, because the OP396 is also on this port; if you need WinCC and the OP396 at the same time maybe you can use a S5-MUX (Multiplexer).
