S5 155U 948 Problem (EPROM)

Hi,

Recently I am doing a service job for S5 948 CPU, i had backup the program from online CPU. I tried to Blow the program into Eprom but failed. After i insert the Eprom to CPU and perform overall reset, the STOP LED still blinking fast. Isn't because the program consist of system function blocks? If yes, how should I know which function blocks I should remove.

Anyone with this experience please help, urgent.

Could you tell us the part number of the Flash EPROM you are using on the CPU 948, and the EPROM writer you are using (PG 7XX with Step 5 software or seperate EPROM writer)? 

When you say you failed to blow the EPROM, what happened?

Have a look at the Programming Guide manual for the CPU 948, it will give you some basic information on the Flash EPROM manipulation.

This Step 5 manual (section 3.5.2 (starting on page 3-255) gives you instructions for transfering a program on the flash card.

Hi Chartier,

I am using 6ES5 374-1FH21 (Flash Memory) & PG with step 5 software.

I able to blow the program into Eprom, just that the Eprom is not working when I insert into CPU. Seems like the CPU not reading the blocks from Eprom (Stop LED flash fast)

Is there problem if I blow the system blocks into Eprom?

I did performed an overall reset for the CPU, but the result still same. (plugged with Eprom)

If I loaded the program into RAM, the CPU work as normal, able to go into RUN mode.

You mentioned you write the Program to the Eprom? . did you write all the Blocks, based on your offline Project, or do you write the blocks individual , OB /  PB / SB / FB...? 

Also did you read the Eprom first and made a backup copy of the Eprom content ??

Depending on this, you may not need to write the DB's or Blocks that already are part of

the CPU.

yes, i write all blocks into Eprom. Unfortunately, I dont have backup for the Eprom.

I tried to load all blocks except DB, but the PLC showing error.
