Hello jack; Could you tell us the part number of the Flash EPROM you are using on the CPU 948, and the EPROM writer you are using (PG 7XX with Step 5 software or seperate EPROM writer)? When you say you failed to blow the EPROM, what happened? Have a look at the Programming Guide manual for the CPU 948, it will give you some basic information on the Flash EPROM manipulation. This Step 5 manual (section 3.5.2 (starting on page 3-255) gives you instructions for transfering a program on the flash card. https://www.saa.su/Manual/Siemens/S5/STEP5.PDF And in the following file you will find part numbers for the Flash memory cards compatible with your CPU 948: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/4202137 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hi Jack Your CPU requests an overall reset (fast flashing Stop LED) and this is in fact perfectly normal and required to be carried out when you plug an EPROM into it and power it up (executing the overall reset will lead to the program being loaded from the EPROM into the CPU's RAM). Perform the overall reset and you should be back in business (but if not, revert back here) |
