S5-95U FDL Communication with a CP342-5

Boz Advanced Member Joined: 10/6/2006 Last visit: 10/8/2024 Posts: 6 Rating: (1)	Hi all, I am trying to establish FDL communications between an S5-95U (part number 6ES5095-8MB02) and an S7300 with a CP342-5. By setting up the comms in Netpro as an unspecified connection, with free layer 2 access I can get comms to work fine. The problem is that in the S5's on site that I will need to interface to, in DB1 the station address's are 2 and 4, which accoring to the manual indicate PLC-PLC communications not using layer 2 free access. In Netpro, once again I setup an unspecified connection, though this time I specified the station adresses and the SAP's. According to the manual the SAP's are the station address + 1. I can see the S5 on the profibus, but communications are not taking place. The message I get in the diagnostics is "SDA service not supported on SAP 4 in dest. station 3". Is it possible to setup communications with the S5-95U in this way or will I have to change them on site to be free layer 2 access? Regards Boz

Boz what did you do to fix your problem? I have the same issue and error except it is with station 1 SAP 4. I set this system up 2 years ago and got it running but I needed to make some changes and I am now getting this error. thanks hazey
