S5-95U & OP77B Communication

Nikzitronik Posts: 150 Rating: (17)	Dear all, Today I changed some busted OP7 HMIs with new OP77B HMIs. All HMIs were connected to S5-95U CPUs. I did the migration from Protool to WinCC Flexible 2008 SP2. I used a RS232 to TTY converter between the HMI & PLC. I downloaded the programm to the OP77B but it failed to communicate with the PLC. After a lot of messing around with settings etc, I did not manage to make it communicate. Then at a moment of enlightment, I did the following: At the Start menu I selected INFO / SETTINGS and then LOGON / SETTINGS. There at transfer settings I selected Channel 1 (IF1A) and set remote to OFF. I then rebooted the OP77B. The communication then worked perfect. I spend a few hours to find the solution so I though it would be good to share it with the forum. Regards, Nik
