Hello Niranjan have a look at the attached pic which shows the HMI-S5 connection options for your OP177B (ref ST80 HMI catalogue 2009). Connection via AS511 (the S5 programming port) are unfortunately no longer supported (they were possible withthe previous generation of Panels). So Profibus DP is the way to go and your Panel will have a DP port (RS485) on it and you hopefully already have an IM308C or CP5431 in your S5 (or have a 95U with onboard DP Master port). I'd go for the IM308C (if you have a choice) which imho is easier to use for this purpose. I hope this helps (but have a feeling it is not the answer you wanted) |

Dear Niranjan Iam repeating myself here, but: Connection via AS511 are NOT supported by your OP177B PN/DP (and I highly doubt that you can actually select AS511 in WinCC flex for it). I'm afraid you need to give up on this one and bite the bullet and either go Profibus DP (as advised ealier)OR choose a Panel that still supports AS511 (there aren't many left though). Nonetheless, this link will give you all the info about connection cables: What connecting cables are there for connections between the operator panels and the different controllers |
