S5 Counter

EICE Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Dear all Please tell me below "S5 Counter bit". It is inside to the program of the equipment under operation. Program 1. :L KC 003 :S C 25 :SU C 25.15 Program 2. :A F 0.1 :CD C 50 :RU C 50.12 Counter bit : 0-11 BCD Data (A manual has a statement.) but bit 12,13,14,15 ? How are these used? There is no statement in a manual. Manual:S5-115U Programmable Controller CPU 945-7UA1./-7UA2. (File Name : CPU945_6ES5998-3UF21_06_e_OCR.pdf) Best Regards EICE

Brynboy17 Posts: 27 Rating: (14)	Hello EICE Sorry about the delay in replying I believe bit 10 is an edge triggered flag to reset the counter and bit 11 is an edge triggered flag to set the counter. The extract I posted is not from a Siemens manual , it's from a Software Reference Guide for Simatic S5 which was put together by the Siemens UK training department sometime in the 1980s. This was issued to Siemens service engineers and customers attending the S5 training courses. There is no reference number on the copy I have but I doubt it would still be available anyway Regards Brian
