[S5] CPU 928B SI2 interface submodule

karolewsky Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Hallo, I'm using an old S5 CPU (6ES5928-3UB12) with one slot SI1 as an interface to an operator computer. So whenever I want to connect to CPU with my PG I need to disconnect the operator station, what makes the diagnostic to be very complicated. I've noticed there is an second place for a interface(SI2). However after searching in The internet, and through the manuals for CPU928 and U115/135 I haven't found anything more that just information that I can connect to SI2 with a interface sumbodule. Do You know perhaps what is the order number of that product, and if it is possible to buy it after so many years of S5 withdrawal. Thanks in advance Karol

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 6/8/2023 Posts: 2968 Rating: (1025)	Hello karolewsky the order number and linkfor the additional PG interface module is:6ES5752-0AA53 As it is in the cancellation phase you may need to searchthe web to find one (Siemens may also still be able to deliver one, pelase check with your local Siemens rep.). Alternatively, you may consider to use an external AS511 capablePG Multiplexer such as the ones available HERE. I hope this helps

karolewsky Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Thanks a lot Fritz, I have one more question, because my boss asks me whether the similar interface for TTY(752 -0AA12) would be ok , I use Simatic PG field M3, and the port in the PG is labeled as COM/TTY. Best regards Karol

I can tell you though that the "main purpose" of the 752-0AA12TTY module is for usage with RK512 computer links, 3964(R) data as well as as "open driver" dara transmissions. Beinga TTY interface, it may very well also be useable as an AS511 PG interface, but I can really only speculate here. Note that it does havea 25 Pinconnector, soyou'd need to make up a customcable for your PG (see the SIMATIC S5-135U/155U System Manual for the details). I suggest you get first hand advise from Siemens concerning its useablity for your purpose via asupport request, perhaps others here may know for sure too though and will advise you. That's what they sent to me "the Module 6ES5752-0AA12 is a TTY-Interface module without PG/OP-Functionality. To connect a Programmer or Operator Panel you need the optional Interface module with Orderno. 6ES5752-0AA53 Just switch power off,plug the moduleinto the PLC and swith power on." Best regards Karol -- I just wanted to add that I have already bought and pluged interface module in(6ES5752-0AA53). Everything works fine.
