S5 master and S7 slaves, through profibus

Hello everyone,

Before performing full migration of the existing system from step 5 to step 7/TIA, we would like to have an intermediate stage where we would replace old s5 I/O with new s7 I/O, but keep s5 master plc. Is it doable?

Master: CPU 155U (p/n 6ES5-188-3UA22), ET200-LP/DP Bus (p/n 6ES5-308-3UC11)

Slave:  ET200MP (p/n 6ES71555-5BA00-0AB0)

Communication: Profibus

First step is to check if you are able to integrate an ET200MP in COM Profibus (tool used to configure the IM308C Profibus Master).
The GSC could be found here:
PROFIBUS GSD files : ET 200MP

COM Profibus tu support only GSDs revision 3.
The revision 3 GSD files can be used with all engineering tools that do not support the revision 5 GSD files e.g. COM PROFIBUS.
So please try the correct GSD (M 155-5 DP ST V3.0 (Rev.3))

See if the GSD contains the I/O modules you plan to use.
