S5 PLC <> Laptop (USB Compatible) connectivity

v4wade Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Dear Expert @ Siemens, Its my first S5 to S7 conversion project & I have a doubt. I have an S5 115 U (942-B CPU) PLC with MLFB '6ES5 942-7UB11'. I want to take a backup of above mentioned PLC (in running condition) using USB compatible Laptop (OS: Windwos XP & no serial port). Please help me on how to do interface between S5 CPU & a USB compatible Laptop, software to be used (for S5 upload) & procedure to upload program from running S5 CPU.

saptauto Posts: 26 Rating: (1)	hello V_4_Wade I experienced that problem and solved with Express Card Serial RS232 and use RS232/TTY Cable from Siemens. Most of latest notebook have this express card slot... Give it try and Good luck! rgrds, Saptauto
