Hello, When you connect between an OPC server and a CP5431, the CP5431 normally remains a Profibus Master (just like the CP plugged in the OPC server is also a Profibus Master). I agree that the CP5431 supports FMS (Layer 7 connections), but it also supports Layer 2 connections (FDL connections). These are known as S5-S5 Links (AG-AG connections) in the CP5431. See chapter 7 of this link: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1804226 The OPC acts like an S5 system, and you configure an FDL connections in step7/NCMPC. In this link http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/17596048 you have the configuration of an FDL link beween an S7 system and a CP5431. Very large parts of that FAQ can be applied to configure the link with the OPC server. For the OPC programming, you will use the SEND/RECEIVE interface. |
