How can I establish an online connection with the CPU, using this cable? Is there a D15 to D25 connection diagram, what I could use to convert it? We have IBHsoftec step 5 software.

We have the 6FX1138-5BA01 CPU module (SINUMERIK 820M GA3).

I have this software (picture attached). It uses the S5 - AS511 protocol. Someone got a connection to the plc 2 years ago, but he doesn't remember how anymore, with the cables that we have (custom cables).

I am no expert in the legacy 820 system, but this is what I can add:

On the back of the 820 controller you will see a number of interface ports - interface 6 is where you will need to connect.

You then need to activate step 5 mode on this port (as it will normally be left in program transfer mode RTS/CTS), this is done by changing setting data bits to:

5010 = 00000100

5011 = 11000111

You should then be able to connect with step 5 or the alternative windows based version you detailed earlier
