S5 System Upgrade

Now I have a system need to upgrade. But Ｉ　have not worked with Step5 and S5.

1、 The system is S5 155U CPU948， and the configrate with IM308.

IM308 communication with ET200B.

2、I need upgragde ET200B to ET200S,  but I dont know how to configrate the Hardware

3、and I do  not know  which software i can use.

4、I have no manual abot the S5 system DP comunication。

so can anybody help me， show me something。

you need a software called COM Profibus.With this software you can configure your Profibus and tranfer the file to the IM308. If you have an EPOROM in your IM308 you need a unit to programm the EPROM. Of course you also need a new EPROM or you erase the old one with an UV-light.

The COM Profibus is no longer available from Siemens. You need to look where you can get this. Maybe local Siemens dealer. And the software works under XP or Win2000.

Also I am not sure if you can configure the ET200S with this software. You need to insert the GSD-file in the COM Profibus software somehow.

This is not an easy task.
